I made Love Seat thinking about mandatory physical connection between two people as being a way to force strangers or friends to have intimate conversation spurred by conventionally awkward closeness. I made this bench while mourning the loss of a friend. She was an enthusiastic and affectionate person who could make any two people find something to bond over. Her energy and presence in a space brought people together. This bench is a celebration of her; I hope that it represents part of what is so special about her.
